PEAK VIEW!from Rosalie |
Our July general meeting at Antonio's was very enjoyable and we voted to meet there on the third Monday evening of each month for three months starting in September to see how we like it. I will talk with the management to see if we can perhaps have a buffet or a select choice of meals so that we can move along with the meeting more quickly.
I think everyone there enjoyed the two speakers, Joyce G. and Betty E. Joyce G. talked about Macular Degeneration and the success her company is having helping patients regain their sight.
Betty E., our delegate to the Convention in Melbourne, Australia, shared the wonderful experiences she had, and also mentioned the change in the bylaws concerning the Mission Statement that was passed at this 2006 Convention:
It was: Zonta International is a world-wide service organization of executives in business and the professions working together to advance the status of women.
7-06 Convention: Zonta International is a global organization of executives and professionals working together to advance the status of women worldwide through service and advocacy.
Be sure to note this change anytime you quote the Mission Statement.
Our members were wonderful about signing up for committees when I sent around the sign-up sheet, but we still have vacancies in the following committees:
Young Women in Public Affairs, Public Relations and Communications, and another to help with the United Nations Committee.
We passed around the club roster for corrections and Leee O. will be putting a corrected one together for us.
Thanks to all of you for your suggestions, ideas, and support.
See you August 20th at the ICE CREAM SOCIAL. Bring a perspective member and let's have fun.
