  • Full Circle Alternatives is a 12 bed transitional living safe house for women in early recovery from drug and alcohol abuse-a unique home like atmosphere that promotes 12 step recovery, funded by grants and donations
    • $750 + Christmas Stockings with perfumes and toiletries, candy, gift and phone cards, and small personal clothing items delivered by Zonta members
  • Intercept: a program of the Women's Resource Agency that mentors at risk middle and high school girls + Colors Workshop to Intercept Program girls
    • $750
  • Ongoing Cell Phone Collection
  • Health Department Maternal and Child Health Program 2 videos for teaching new moms ($56) called the Happy Baby
  • Mighty Muse Program Support: provision of creative writing workshops as a powerful means of promoting self expression and understanding
    • sponsored 2 workshops $180 And collected and provided Journals collected
  • HIGHWAY CLEANUP - 1 mile section of highway both community service and fellowship; watched the safety film from the Highway Dept; vests, plastic bags supplied by Highway Department; approximately each quarter; beautiful sign which says Pikes Peak Zonta; husbands/friends included great exercise; next is Sat 4/17

TO BE UNITED INTERNATIONALLY TO FOSTER HIGH ETHICAL STANDARDS, TO IMPLEMENT SERVICE PROGRAMS, AND TO PROVIDE MUTUAL SUPPORT AND FELLOWSHIP FOR MEMBERS WHO SERVE THEIR COMMUNITIES, NATION AND THE UNIVERSE

• Special meetings for those who can come; Bagging Nuts and eating soup; putting together Columbine Stamp Pins for International NYC 2/28; Ice Cream Social, International Buffet, Holiday Party
• Pikes Peak Area Zonta Club Newsletter member profile
• Our Membership includes wonderful diverse group of professional women; Master Gardener, a Color Analyst, some incredible teachers-one who was recently named Foreign Language Teacher of the Year, return to Colorado and a former Club President, Rosalie Dorland
• Monthly Meetings with food and drink & frequent Outstanding Diverse Speakers who broaden our understanding of women throughout the world. This year:
  • a Kurdish woman who spoke first hand about what the Kurds experienced under the Taliban rule in Iraq; she praised the US,
  • a wonderful young woman and officer in the Air Force who talked about Sexual Violence against women,
  • a woman from the Better Business Bureau who emphasized women's role in small business,
  • a woman from Morningstar who eloquently spoke about the plight of women in Afghanistan who were forbidden to work under the Taliban rule. Goal of Morningstar is to empower women of Afghanistan to make it on their own.
  • Zipper - stickers on a board for doing individually promoting the status of women (help each other, service project, health check for yourself)
• New Z's: Bringing new professionals into Zonta and following through:

• International Meeting NYC - 5 or 6 with small amount of money for delegate and alternate

• Mayor's International Forum Representative Ellen Slavitz in December provided outstanding summary of Zonta local and International
• Women's Service Event at Colorado Springs Library 3/30
• FUND-RAISING: nuts and Mother's Weekend Fashion Show at the Broadmoor
