The Pikes Peak Area Zonta Foundation is organized exclusively for
charitable purposes, to carry out the charitable objectives of the Zonta
Club of the Pikes Peak Area of El Paso County including the provision of
service at the global and local level and to support charitable
organizations that advance the charitable objectives of Zonta
International Foundation.

Trampled Rose Trampled Rose provides shelter and
help for women
with fistula related problems. They prevent new cases of fistula and other
tragic problems for girls through rehabilitation, keeping them in school
and providing for their very basic needs. They are currently working with

Young Women in Public Affairs Award
The goal of the Zonta International Young Women in Public Affairs
(YWPA) Program is to encourage more young women (16-19) to participate in
public and political life by recognizing a commitment to the volunteer
sector,
evidence of volunteer leadership achievements and a dedication to the
advancement of the status of women. Our local winners information will be
submitted to the district level for consideration of the district

Karen
Possehl Women's Endowment (UCCS)
The Karen Possehl Women's Endowment (KPWE) provides opportunities for
talented and deserving women to attend the University of Colorado at
Colorado Springs (UCCS). These non-traditional women gain the freedom and
confidence to invest their energies more fully in their coursework and to
pursue experiences that enrich their personal development and career
preparations. Our club has partnered with one student so far, able to see
her grow, flourish, mature and pursue her dreams not only thanks to our
financial contribution, but because of the great mentorship of one of our

Launching Families A local effort within our club, the
caring volunteers of Launching Families create a support system during the
transitioning years for youth who grew up in the El Paso County foster
system. On their own for the first time, they lack the basic things
that most 18 year olds take for granted: advice from someone with
experience, encouragement, roots, and emotional support when the going

Zonta Wings
One gap in services to victims of human trafficking is that of
transportation. Often a rescued victim is in danger of being re-recruited
through physical and/or emotional coercion if she remains in the local
community. Zonta Wings, in conjunction with the Human Trafficking Task
Force of Southern Colorado, provides emergency transportation

Human Trafficking Task Force of Southern Colorado
The mission of the Human Trafficking Task Force of Southern Colorado is to
build a collaboration of organizations and individuals to reduce human
suffering caused by human trafficking, through advocacy, awareness,
rehabilitation, and services for survivors. Founded in 2008, the Task
Force has strong ties to our club (and actually grew out of it!). We are

Trafficking Awareness Campaign
The Task Force recently started to partner with CSPD to increase awareness
of human trafficking by means of advertising on bus benches and inside
bathrooms.

TESSA Our club has a rich history with TESSA. We have been
faithfully supporting them for years with our financial support, as well
as our shelf for their safe house and volunteering at their Christmas
Shoppe. Their mission is to help women and their children to achieve
safety and well-being while challenging communities to end sexual and

Women's Resource Agency - InterCept Program
InterCept is a leadership program for at-risk girls that teaches them to
make healthy life choices. This school-based prevention program for 8th
through 12th grade girls focuses on building leadership skills and
positive relationships by addressing such topics as: anger management,
goal setting, intimate partner violence, healthy relationships, and
more. Each participant costs $250 - our club is going to pay for twelve
girls to complete this life-changing, preventive program. Read more about

Centro de la Familia Children's ProgramCentro de la Familia
has been an anchor to the Hispanic population in El Paso County by
providing services, information and resources to help them overcome the
obstacles of living in a new and diverse culture. Centro de la Familia
plays a vital role in sustaining and preserving safe, stable and nurturing
homes for Latino children and their families.Our club will be support in
their effort to help children process their experience through a
therapeutic playgroup held in conjunction with Yes, I Can! designed to
support children who have experienced or who have witnessed domestic

Dream Center - Women's Clinic The Dream Centers Womens
Clinic provides health care for women 18 to 64 in Colorado Springs who
are uninsured or underinsured. Staff and volunteers take extra steps to
ensure patients are provided compassionate setting in which to receive
professional medical care. Zonta will provide funding for services at the
Dream Center Clinic including annual exams, ultrasounds, pap and breast
