"ADVANCING THE STATUS OF WOMEN WORLDWIDE"

Dr. Pat Boone is retired and presently enjoys painting, tap dance, and learning Spanish, French and Italian. A classic overachiever, Pat has been a counselor ("I've heard enough problems to last a lifetime"), owner of a Mail Boxes Etc., Flight Attendant, Flight Attendant Supervisor, and Station Agent, Bookkeeper, Real Estate Agent, Math, Science and Reading Teacher, Stylist for a department store catalog, owner of a bicycle rental in a state park, model, etc. Pat loves to have fun and enjoys movies, charity work, and people, especially those who think differently from her and trying to understand the reasons behind their opinions. She still hates wasting time or being bored and enjoys the vitality of the Zonta meetings. She wishes she had known about Zonta years ago, as women had an lonely, uphill battle during the time she was in the work force. Having learned to say "No" (being a recovering perfectionist and oldest of five children with an alcoholic father), she still has a sympathetic heart, but prefers to help people help themselves instead of just giving them charity or doing things for them that they can do for themselves. Pat went back to school 20 years after college graduation for her graduate degrees, so she knows it's "never too late."

"I'm appreciative of those in Zonta who have shown me such kindness this past year and look forward to impacting our community thru Zonta."
