Purpose of the Glass Slipper Ball
The Club's focus this year is to support the creation of a sustainable Life Skills Curriculum for use at TESSA's safe-house. Also, a portion of the funds raised this year will be directed toward raising community awareness around the presence of human trafficking in Colorado Springs. Zonta encourages more young women to participate in public and political life by recognizing a local, young woman, age 16-20, who has committed to the volunteer sector with a scholarship award.
Local chefs, florists, musicians, and dancers volunteer their efforts to make this a professional unique event. As a result, community awareness is raised on the status of women in dangerous situations and the needs of the local community safe-house.
Post-event comments encouraged the Club to pursue the event again in 2008 and partners are again joining the opportunity to be a part of it.
